What has happened at the lab so far, newest first.

29 September 2026 · Masterclass sessions at Pranavananda International School, Gurugram

On 29 September 2026, the Bharat Tech-Shakti Mission visited Pranavananda International School in Sector 92, Gurugram, to conduct two dedicated AI Masterclass sessions: the first for senior students of Classes 11 and 12, and the second for the school's educators and staff.

The visit marked an important milestone for the Mission, bringing our hands-on way of teaching directly into a school campus and engaging both learners and teachers on the same day.

Morning session · How machines learn, where they fail, and what you can build

The student masterclass ran for two hours with students from Science, Commerce and Humanities. It began not with rules or definitions, but with a question: why nobody can write a rule that spots a cat in a photo, and how a machine learns it from examples instead.

Two student volunteers trained a working vision model on stage in two minutes using a webcam. The room then explored where AI tools fail. They saw how training data carries human bias, why large language models break words into tokens, and how chatbots can invent court cases that never existed.

The session moved from caution to creation through vibe coding. Using plain words, a two-player browser game was generated live on the screen and personalised with a student's name. Learners then passed around a tiny NodeMCU microcontroller board and watched a live IoT build: a device that picked up radio signals to display real aircraft flying through the airspace above their school in real time.

Every student took away a challenge for the month ahead: build one small useful thing, and teach a grandparent how to use AI to read a letter.

Afternoon session · Artificial Intelligence: The Third Revolution

The afternoon session brought together the school's teachers and leadership to examine what artificial intelligence means for those who teach. The Mission team led the discussion, framing AI not as faster IT, but as a third revolution after electricity and computing.

Teachers examined the ladder from data to wisdom. While AI can process marks and draft question papers, the summit of teaching remains human: care, fairness, and knowing what a particular child needs on a difficult day.

The room watched live demonstrations of AI hallucinating academic sources on Google Scholar and discussed why commercial AI essay detectors cannot be trusted, especially for Indian students writing English as a second language. The session walked through the new CBSE Computational Thinking and AI framework for Classes 3 to 8, student privacy safeguards under the DPDP Act 2023, and practical ways to grade student thinking rather than just finished text.

15 August 2026 · Two launches on Independence Day

The Swami Pranavananda AI & Robotics Lab marked India's 80th Independence Day, 15 August 2026, with two launches. Swami Atmajnanananda ji Maharaj unveiled both and gave them his blessings.

The first is the Mission's web portal at bharattechshakti.org. The second is AI Shakti, a free bite-sized AI learning initiative on WhatsApp.

AI Shakti sends one small AI lesson a day, in plain English and Hindi. All ages. No computer background needed. Nothing to buy. Anyone can join and learn a little each day.

26 April 2026 · The Sangha's leadership visits the lab

Swami Biswatmananda ji Maharaj, General Secretary of Bharat Sevashram Sangha, visited the lab on 26 April 2026, with Swami Atmajnanananda ji Maharaj and senior Swamijis from centres across India.

The volunteers who run the lab showed them the work. The five workstations and the teaching screen. The Raspberry Pi and Arduino corner, where a learner wires a circuit by hand. The smart devices and the voice assistant. A machine trained to tell one thing from another, start to finish, in about ninety seconds.

Six weeks before this visit the room did not exist. By the day they came, the first Beginner batch was already running, and one of those learners spoke about what had changed for him.

04 April 2026 · AI Masterclass for PGDAV (Evening) College

The lab held its first masterclass on Saturday 4 April 2026, for around twenty students of PGDAV (Evening) College, University of Delhi. It ran from eleven in the morning until a quarter past two, and it cost the college and the students nothing.

The group came from B.Com and B.A. Political Science, first year through to fourth. Two of their teachers came with them, Prof. Harish Arora of the Hindi department and Dr. Manoj Kumar of Political Science.

The session had three parts. Two hours on how AI works and how to write prompts that get useful answers, with everything shown live rather than described. Half an hour on the hardware, the Arduino sensors, the Raspberry Pi and the voice-controlled devices. Half an hour on what these skills are worth in the job market, and what else matters alongside them.

Certificates were presented to every student by Swamy Atmajnanananda Ji Maharaj, Secretary (Delhi), Bharat Sevashram Sangha.

The written feedback afterwards pointed at the same thing again and again. The framework for writing prompts, and watching it work live, was what students valued most. Several wrote that the session turned AI from something abstract into something they could use that week.

15 March 2026 · The lab opens

The Swami Pranavananda AI & Robotics Lab opened on 15 March 2026 at Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Sriniwaspuri, New Delhi.

Smt. Nidhi Khare IAS, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, performed the inauguration. Capt. (Dr.) Indu Boken Kasana, District Education Officer, Gurugram, and Swamy Atmajnanananda Ji Maharaj, Secretary (Delhi), Bharat Sevashram Sangha, were guests of honour.

The opening was carried by ANI wire syndication to 138 publications in India and abroad. Demo classes began the following week.
