Frequently Asked Questions
What people usually ask before they join, answered plainly.
Do I need my own computer or laptop?
No. The lab has five workstations, and you work on those during class and practice. You do not need to own a computer or bring one. If you have a smartphone, bring it, because some of what we do you can also do on a phone at home.
I have never used a computer before. Is this really for me?
Yes. This is built for people starting at zero. There is no entrance test, and no assumption that you have used a computer. We teach by doing, so you learn the machine and the ideas together, at a pace that suits a first-timer. Some of our learners had never touched a keyboard before they walked in.
Is there an age limit? Am I too old?
There is no age limit. The youngest learners are about ten and the oldest are past fifty, often in the same batch. We mix ages on purpose, because a first-time older learner and a quick young one each teach the other something. If you can come to the lab, you are old enough.
Is it free?
There is a nominal fee, kept deliberately low, because a class people pay a little for is a class people finish. No one is making money from it. If the fee is the one thing standing between you and joining, come and talk to us before you decide against it.
Do I need to know English?
No. Classes run in Hindi and English together, and you can ask questions in whichever you are comfortable with. The tools themselves work in Hindi too, and one of the first things we show is how to make AI read and reply in simple Hindi.
What will I actually be able to do after the course?
Concrete things. Write a job application or a letter with AI and check that it is right. Get a clear Hindi explanation of a document or a school lesson. Make a simple image, use your voice to type, and build a small working program by describing what you want. You also wire your first electronic circuit by hand, so the machine stops feeling like magic.
Will this help me find a job?
We do not promise a job or a placement, and you should be careful of anyone who does. What we give you is skills you can put on a CV and use in an interview, and for college students, work you can use in your own projects. Whether that turns into a job depends on you and on the market, not on us.
My child wants to join. Is it a safe place for a school student?
Yes. Batches are small and supervised, the classroom sits inside the Bharat Sevashram Sangha centre in Sriniwaspuri, and there is a code of conduct everyone follows. From the first class we teach children never to share personal information with an AI tool or online. You are welcome to see the lab yourself before deciding.
How do I join, and where is the lab?
Fill the short enquiry form on the Apply page, or call us and we will guide you. The lab is at Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Sriniwaspuri, New Delhi. You are also welcome to walk in and see it. Admissions: +91-80104-84692.
Will I get a certificate at the end?
Yes. You receive a certificate when you complete the course and its assessment. It records what you learned and what you built. The point of the course is the skill you keep, and the certificate is the proof you can show.
Still have a question?
Call, write, or come and see the lab. We would rather answer a question now than have it stop you from joining.
